Diabetes Insight has designed and facilitated a new training course for carers and health care assistants who are looking after individuals with diabetes. Diabetes Insight recognises the vital role that carers play within the health service that goes often unrecognised. The changing nature of roles within the health service have seen many carers having to adapt to additional pressure and gain a new skill set.
This course would also be of interest to special needs assistants assisting children with Type 1 Diabetes in the classroom etc.
Our training has been developed from feedback from PHN’s nationwide who have expressed concerns regarding health and safety issues when dealing with carers engaging with people with diabetes, as well as best practice.
All carers/HCA’s attending must have a Minimum QQI Level 5 &/or 6 Healthcare/Childcare Award.
