One of these services is our exclusively designed Diabetes Low GI Cookery Course, which Diabetes Insight designed in response to meet a growing demand from our clients. Our cookery courses are suitable for people with Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and Pre Diabetes. All our cookery courses are set in the beautiful peaceful countryside setting of Bandon,West Cork and include lunch.
Cooking Affects the Sugar Content of Food
One of the growing issues that we find at Diabetes Insight is how little or no education is provided through the mainstream health care services in relation to how the cooking process can effect the sugar content of food. This presents great difficulty for people trying to understand how different foods can affect their blood sugar levels.
Our cookery course helps an individual with diabetes to understand the foods that affect blood sugar levels, what happens when they are cooked and how to avoid spikes in levels two hours after eating. Our courses also cover the following:
